Kindness Has No Nationality: A Mission Behind Every Purchase
Hi friends,
Our Happy Harder Home was originally meant to be a DIY page, showcasing tutorials for beginner friendly home projects. Throughout my DIY journey the past few years, I’ve felt more empowered to get out of my comfort zone, try new things, and push myself to be more informed. With that being said, I’m incorporating intentional living - through foundational values, exhibiting empathy, kindness, compassion, valuing diversity, being accountable and advocating for those who can’t. We can all say these things, but let’s ask ourselves if we’re really living it? I want my daughters to see their mother doing more than just complaining or shaking her head. I want them to see me taking action and learning resiliency. (Don’t worry, the DIY tutorials are still coming, I pinky promise!) That’s why I started a blog and my first mission is to help a marginalized population that’s been making headlines all year.
It’s been hard not to feel weighed down by how divided the world feels lately. I’ve seen so many troubling videos and stories of families being separated and people being treated inhumanely, just based on the color of their skin and the language they speak. It’s completely heartbreaking and we can’t just sit idly by. We have to do something, otherwise we’re all complicit.
Instead of feeling helpless, I wanted to do something positive and actionable. That’s how Kindness Has No Nationality came to life.
More Than Just Merch
This isn’t just merch — it’s a chance to live my values out loud. In our home, we talk about empathy, generosity, and kindness, and I want my daughters to see that even small actions can make a difference. Each piece represents more than a design — it’s a step toward helping families who are building new beginnings in our communities. It’s also a reminder to care for one another — to be kind to friends, family, neighbors, and strangers alike, and to stand up for marginalized populations in our communities.
How Your Purchase Makes an Impact
All proceeds go to nonprofits providing legal and social services to immigrants, locally and nationally. I’ll be splitting proceeds between Catholic Charities of La Crosse and the National Immigration Law Center
